Project Summary

Our team was tasked with creating a fragrance concept for a brand not currently in the market, and we chose Coca-Cola for its rich heritage and global recognition. We developed 'Sense,' a customizable solid perfume that taps into the powerful connection between scent and memory.

Recognizing Coca-Cola’s iconic status and distinct flavor, we leaned into the brand’s sense of familiarity to craft a product that evokes nostalgia and personal experiences. 'Sense by Coca-Cola' allows individuals to create a personalized fragrance by blending oils that resonate with their unique memories. The perfume can be custom-made at a Coca-Cola event in Atlanta, Georgia, or ordered online.

The product’s design—a vessel shaped like a soda tab with a wearable chain—reflects the brand’s identity while offering a modern, functional twist. This concept not only extends Coca-Cola’s brand presence into a new market but also deepens its emotional connection with consumers.

Takeaways

Working with a brand as iconic as Coca-Cola was an exciting challenge that pushed our team to think beyond the obvious. We conducted numerous whiteboard sessions to explore every possible angle, and the breakthrough came when we reflected on our own memories and experiences with the brand. By combining these personal insights with in-depth consumer behavior and demographic research, we transformed niche insights into a concept that is uniquely tailored to Coca-Cola's identity. This experience reinforced the importance of blending creativity with research to develop ideas that resonate on a deeper, more personal level with consumers.
